If you've been following me on Instagram, you know about my recent journey (addiction) into making sourdough. Several years ago I visited Tartine Bakery in SF and was blown away by just how good bread can be. I was intrigued by the process and finally wanted to try my hand at it. There's something magical and rewarding about working with my hands to turn flour, water, and salt into one of life's tastiest treats.

. . . . .

Here are 5 things I'm digging...

1.

The Perfect Loaf has been my go-to site for learning all things sourdough. Maurizio (a software engineer-turned-baker) writes in a way that's engaging and easy to understand, even for people like me who have very little baking experience. Even if you're not interested in bread baking, it's one of the best examples of a content site that I've ever come across. Bookmark this.

2.

I love this brand redesign for Whereby, a video conferencing app. Most branding for tech companies feels boring and safe, but this redesign really stood out to me. It's bold, memorable and feels like the future. I hope we see more tech companies break out of the box like this.

3.

Noah Gunderson's new album Lover is something special. It's powerful, raw, and vulnerable. I can't put my finger on it, but I find myself keep going back to it.

4.

If you own a smart phone, you should stop what you're doing and watch General Magic. It's one of the best documentaries I've seen in a long time. I had no idea about how much General Magic laid the groundwork for the iPhone over a decade before it was released.

5.

This Cabin at Longbranch in Washington is nothing short of magical. It started as a 200 sq. ft. bunkhouse in 1959 and has morphed into a 2400 sq. ft. retreat through multiple remodels and additions over the years.
