Our spring garden is in full swing with both current selections and new trials: we grew both our baby Green Fortune Pak Choiand next season’s new intro, plump mini Green Jewel Mini Pak Choi. We are making a new video on growing this delicious, healthy and fast-growing veggie from seed.
We began harvesting an early planting of our stunning Purple Crush Cauliflower and a new variety of baby pink turnips and our pearly-white Mikado Baby Turnips. We are planning to introduce these mild and sweet little salad turnips as a mix after an additional fall trial.
Here in the California trial garden, nighttime temperatures have reached 50°F (10°C) at night, so we have moved our tomato starts outdoors to “harden off” a.k.a. acclimating them to outdoor conditions. After 7 to 10 days of transition time, they’ll be planted in the garden and we can start dreaming of summer tomatoes!
