These amazing homes are built in less than 24 hours — and it’s all thanks to giant 3D printers

Havelar, a construction company in Portugal, created an 860-square-foot, two-bedroom house in just 18 hours using a 3D printer, and it cost less than half as much as the average build in the area.

The process still needs human workers to add doors, windows, roofing, and other touches, but the project still took less than two months and is much faster than traditional methods.

The trend of 3D-printed dwellings includes builders exploring ways to repurpose plastic waste and keep home construction affordable in growing areas like Austin, Texas.
