NZ First moves to scrap diversity requirements in public service

Winston Peters is making another move against what he calls “woke left-wing social engineering,” introducing the Public Service (Repeal of Diversity and Inclusiveness Requirements) Amendment Bill.

The bill removes diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) mandates from public service hiring, ensuring merit is the primary factor in government recruitment.

Gangs run New Zealand’s prisons

Sociologist Dr Jarrod Gilbert, in a study commissioned by Corrections, found that gang members wield significant power behind bars, creating a culture of fear and pushing inmates into joining for protection.

To counter this, the report suggests segregated wings for patched members to prevent them from dominating the general prison population.

Green MP turns prison food PSA into a misleading rant

Green MP Tamatha Paul has expressed “regret” over her misleading claim in a TikTok video that the “vast majority” of prisoners in NZ are there for non-violent offences, committed in response to poverty.

Paul claimed prisoners were being punished for being “disabled, poor, Māori.”

In reality, Corrections data shows that violent crimes dominate prison populations.

A scathing independent report by Deloitte found a staggering lack of financial oversight, uncontrolled spending, and savings plans so ineffective they might as well not exist.

South Africa’s ‘co-governance’ disaster

Rob Hersov, a 5th generation South African businessman and vocal critic of the ruling African National Congress (ANC), has issued a dire warning about the country’s racial laws and rapid decline.

In an interview with David Rubin, Hersov stated:

“140 race-based laws in South Africa are all anti-white. Eight days ago, President Cyril Ramaphosa signed into law something shocking—expropriation without compensation. This is the straw that broke the camel’s back.”

The US Supreme Court appears poised to rule—possibly unanimously—that workplace discrimination laws apply equally to all employees, regardless of whether they belong to a minority or majority group.

In oral arguments, justices pushed back against a legal standard that makes it harder for white or heterosexual plaintiffs to bring discrimination claims.

Twin study suggests tattoos may raise skin cancer risk

A twin study conducted by University of Southern Denmark researchers found that tattooed individuals were nearly four times more likely to develop skin cancer than their ink-free counterparts.

Among 316 twin pairs, the sibling with tattoos had a 33–62% higher likelihood of being diagnosed with cancer, with larger tattoos (bigger than a palm) tripling the risk.
