Today We Invite You to Notice and Share Jesus’ Love
A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.
—John 13:34 (NIV)
Time to Think
"Love is not patronizing and charity isn’t about pity; it is about love. Charity and love are the same—with charity you give love, so don’t just give money but reach out your hand instead." —Mother Teresa
Time to Act
Pay attention today to small signs of love—both the ones God places in your path and the ones you can offer others.
Time to Pray
Dear Lord, thank You for the personal ways You remind me that I am loved.
Mornings with Jesus
For this is the message you heard from the beginning: We should love one another.
—1 John 3:11 (NIV)
Some of my best ideas come while I’m driving. I keep index cards in my car so I can jot down and capture the inspirations for later. My kids have seen me in action as I cart them around town for their various activities. When an idea hit the other day, the card I grabbed already had something written on it. At the next red light, I took a closer look and read: “Have a great day. Love you!” I recognized my daughter, Jocelyn’s, handwriting. It was a small gesture, but the sentiment behind it was huge. She knew exactly where I’d find her message. She also has such a pure heart I knew those six words were packed with an immense amount of love.
The experience reminded me that Jesus leaves me messages all the time too. The difference is He uses the world as His index card and solutions to my circumstances as His pen. That parking spot that opens up near the front of the grocery store when I’m in a hurry? That’s Him. That five-dollar bill I find in my car when I’m desperate for coffee at the drive-thru? That’s Him. That flower that grows through the crack in the pavement that gives me hope during an impossible situation? That’s Him.
Jesus knows me and tailors His love notes specifically to me. I recognize His handwriting and His pure messages packed with an immense amount of love.
