MUSEUM CELEBRATES SIKH VAISAKHI

The museum event, in partnership with Manchester Sikh Foundation and Feed My City, includes a Langar, which is a Sikh concept founded by the first Guru, Guru Nanak Dev ji. A Langar is a free, nourishing, vegetarian meal served to anyone regardless of religion, gender, status or ethnicity. It reflects love, equality and compassion.

Enjoy a rare chance to play with actual museum objects and connect with the spirits and ancestors of the Anindilyakwa People. These incredible dolls are considered alive by the women who create and care for them. Traditionally used as inter-generational learning aides for literacy, numeracy, kinship systems and women’s health.
