Anthony Robles was born without his right leg.
Doctors told his parents to temper expectations. Wrestling, in particular, seemed unrealistic — a sport built on balance, leverage, and control.
Anthony didn’t see it that way.
He stepped onto the mat anyway.
Lost early and often. Then…
Adapted.
He changed his stance.
Reworked his technique.
Turned what looked like a limitation into leverage.
By his senior year at Arizona State University, Anthony went undefeated.
He won the NCAA wrestling championship in the 125-pound weight class — becoming a national champion in one of the most physically demanding sports there is.
Not by pretending the obstacle wasn’t there.
By figuring out how to work with it.
