A New, Sparkling Collaboration.

We’re happy to finally announce our collaboration with NY-based interior designer Sasha Bikoff – an exciting project we’ve been working on for over a year.
Bikoff is a renowned designer who has made a name for herself with her boldly imaginative and maximal interiors. Elaborating on her exuberant signature style, we developed a collection of Murano glassware, including pitchers, vases, drinking glasses, and an ashtray. In crafting the pieces, molten glass was rolled over hand-cut geometric fragments of diachronic, iridescent glass – adding glittering, colorful details to the design’s pitch-black surface.

Costruzione Dell’universo - Artists’ Magazines and Publications After Marcel Duchamp

Book tip by Lorenzo Ballin

|
This month’s reading was suggested by Lorenzo Ballin, a photographer and aspiring fashion designer who manages Laguna~B’s shipment department.
Costruzione dell’Universo – which translates to “The Construction of the Universe” – is a collection of excerpts from artists’ books, magazines, and publications from the 1950s to the present day. The book, published by Viaindustriae, results from the eponymous exhibition which took place in Foligno, Umbria, in 2023. “The publication explores newspapers and magazines as a means of communication for the contemporary artist. The artist designs its form and content, turning the medium into a unique but repeatable work. Costruzione dell’Universo closely examines the radical change taking place in 20th-century avant-gardes, celebrating everything conflictual and irrational and acts of discoveries beyond known boundaries. The magazine becomes an ephemeral but effective medium for learning about the artists and their in-depth research, forming a sort of micro-museum. Flipping through the pages, you’ll comprehend the emergence of new philosophies and strands of thought – think of the invention of the unconscious – and the artists’ active participation in the vicissitudes of the time,” Lorenzo said. “This book shows how major European 20th-century avant-gardes have become invisible columns in our society. Dadaism and Surrealism, on the other hand, are my ‘columns,’ my main influences.”
The B~Library is an exciting Laguna~B side project. It is a book collection curated (and continuously updated) by @studio.bruno located at Spazio, in Dorsoduro 3276, Venice. Anyone can borrow any book every day from 10 AM to 7 PM. Come and visit!

Having fun is essential. Our team’s November started with a lovely trip to Vistorta, the Brandolini family’s 19th-century estate and winery in the Venetian countryside. The sunny but freezing morning began with a visit to the neoclassical villa, with a wonderful greenhouse and interiors designed by Renzo Mongiardino. It continued with a stroll through the surrounding park, a romantic garden designed in 1965 by English landscape architect Russell Page. Since a toast to the exciting past year seemed overdue, we also spent a couple of hours in the historical cellar, tasting Vistorta’s signature wines – and playing a tasting competition.

In collaboration with IUAV University, Vital is deploying innovative applied research for the development of an integrated monitoring framework — including optical sensing tools like drone-mounted cameras and portable scanners to monitor vegetation health with better precision. This cutting-edge approach will enhance restoration efforts and contribute to setting new standards for ecosystem management.
