Digitakt II & Digitone II OS 1.10
Swedish musical instrument company Elektron has today released OS upgrades for Digitakt II and Digitone II! Both Digi IIs are leveling up to 1.10, borrowing a host of additional features from each other—plus some tasty new additions to their repertoire.
Digitakt II
Digitakt II is receiving the Comb+ filter from Digitone II, adding this metallic flavor to your filter options. Mono sampling makes its return, joining stereo sampling and offering greater flexibility when capturing sound. Routable overdrive distortion and base-width filter now lets you decide whether they come before or after your various filter alternatives. Keytrack modulation also jumps over from Digitakt II’s younger sibling.
Digitone II
Chord Mode has arrived on Digitone II, more powerful than ever, and with various modes and Chord Memory to maximize your harmonic flexibility. Overbridge streaming is now possible, allowing multi-track audio streaming straight to your computer (the plugin is in beta testing and coming soon). You can also do lots more with the Arpeggiator, rotating the offsets for new melodic sequences as well as gaining new arp speeds to experiment with.
For both
There are also a host of new features that are arriving on both machines. Track Swap lets you switch two tracks - with all the settings, presets and sequencer info attached - helping you organize for live shows or just keep things tidy. With P-lock to active trigs you can quickly edit parameters on all active trigs on your page, or track. Live record overdub allows notes to be recorded on top of existing trigs instead of overwriting them. There’s also an option for live recording Parameter Locks to active trigs only, and new track select options.
And plenty more
Then there’s a new shortcut to toggle metronome on and off, kit previews on Digitone II, a new velocity to volume curve on Digitakt II, plus GUI improvements, performance improvements, and a whole lot more. For a full list of all the new features, improvements, and bug fixes - please check the release notes.
