Exciting news! We have a new arrival from Buena Vista, but with a twist—it's not the familiar Guatemalan Buena Vista that graces our menu. "Buena Vista" translates to 'beautiful view,' a name that's quite common for farms, and just one look at that breathtaking scenery explains why!
This Brazilian Buena Vista is a versatile blend crafted from a mix of different coffee varieties. At Daterra, each lot undergoes meticulous tasting to precisely match a desired flavor profile, and further blending is done to achieve that perfect harmony. Employing the pulped natural process, also known as semi-washed, the coffee cherries' skin is removed while leaving the fruity mucilage intact, akin to the honey process. This method results in coffees that are sweeter than their washed counterparts yet offer a cleaner cup compared to natural coffees.
Nestled in the Cerrado region of Brazil, Daterra stands as a beacon of sustainable coffee practices. Acknowledged as the world's highest in sustainability by the Rainforest Alliance—an NGO dedicated to combatting deforestation and climate change—Daterra also proudly holds B Corp certification. Every Daterra coffee we share is a testament to our joint commitment to sustainability. Their dedication is substantial, with the farm spanning over 6400 hectares, protecting 3500 hectares of rainforest, and showcasing negative emissions as a business.
At Rosso Coffee Roasters, we take pride in not only offering exceptional coffees but also in our alignment with values of sustainability. This Brazilian Buena Vista is a perfect embodiment of that commitment, inviting you to savor not just a cup of coffee but a testament to responsible and sustainable coffee practices.
