We're excited to share another exclusive coffee selection with you - returning from Guatemala! Zoila's coffee is grown on a few hectares in her backyard near the town of San Pedro Necta. It's a Bourbon and Typica blend, washed processed and grown at elevations between 1750-1850m. The coffee offers a refreshing and elegant orange acidity, followed by milk chocolate sweetness, complex nutty tones, and a sweet vanilla note.
We first encountered Zoila's coffee in 2018 and were completely blown away by its flavor profile. In 2019, we traveled to Huehuetenango to meet Zoila in person and see the region's coffee production for ourselves. What we found was a stunning environment for growing coffee, but unfortunately a lack of infrastructure for post-harvest processing were holding back the region's development.
We're committed to supporting Zoila in the development of her processing facility, in order to improve the quality of her coffee and her profits, which she can reinvest in her community. Our hope is that we can get this foundation set up and off the ground in the near future.
Enjoy!
