This week's release is a heirloom varietal from Ethiopia's Gesha Village! This coffee embodies the distinct flavors of the washed Ethiopian terroir, showcasing an abundance of stone fruit and citrus notes. In our cups, we are finding lots of sweetness like white peach and honey. And on the finish, the combination of honey and lemon creating a refreshing sweetened iced black tea flavour!
This offering is known as 'Chaka' from Gesha Village. Appropriately named, 'Chaka' translates to 'forest,' reflecting the fact that this coffee is grown entirely in the primeval forests of Western Omo. This coffee is grown naturally among the rich developed biodiversity of the forest. This lot is a great representation of the flavours of terroir from the Bench Maji zone of Ethiopia.
