September is just around the corner, hopefully still filled with sunshine, warm evenings, and deep enjoyment.
This issue of Copenhagen Unfolded is written by Christina, an assistant on VisitCopenhagen's digital channels. When she's not watching horror films and singing musical songs, she explores Copenhagen and bitterly realises, that her sense of direction is not as good as she thinks.
As someone who has previously lived in both Sydney and London, Copenhagen can easily feel very small. However, my sense of direction can still fail me - and thankfully so! This means I'm constantly finding new things and in this edition of Unfolded, I want to take you on a tour de whoops and share some of the gems I've accidentally discovered.

THE LITTLE WRONG TURN TO THE MERMAID
When my in-laws from Ireland recently visited Copenhagen, they wanted to see the Little Mermaid. When I guided them there, it was through Kastellet, and we (I) forgot to turn off at the right time and ended up at the newly renovated Langelinieskur instead.
The shed is actually a 350 metre long building on Langeliniekaj that was built in the late 1800s. After serving different functions over the years and standing empty for a long time, it now houses a Michelin-starred restaurant, a wine bar and perhaps the longest roof terrace in the world.
On the rooftop terrace you can bring your own food and drink or buy it in one of the shops and enjoy the Copenhagen waterfront from above.

WRONG TURN IN THE DEER PARK
The annual summer trip to Bakken with my girlfriends ended differently than planned. We went too far (unbelievable that it's possible) and miraculously ended up at Kilden i Skoven, a small wine and food oasis next to Bakken.
At Kilden i Skoven, it's also possible to get dishes for both small and large appetites. Whether you're in the mood for a chicken burger or bread of the day with whipped brown butter and browned salt, there's something for you. With a carefully selected wine list, you'll also be able to find a wine that goes perfectly with your food.
Warning: Once you have placed yourself at Kilden i Skoven, there is a good chance that you will not be able to get to Bakken at all!
I was recently at the M/S Maritime Museum and had gone completely sugar-cold. You can't do that when you're surrounded by Danish maritime history, so I had to resort to their museum café M/S Café. What a stroke of luck it turned out to be.
M/S Café serves a few but carefully selected dishes, with accompanying drinks for all age groups. Fish is at the centre of all the dishes, and I especially like the smørrebrød with tinned fish from Grøndals.
There's also something special about eating in a dry dock, especially when it's designed by Bjarke Ingels Group. Even sitting still in Elsinore, it feels like you're on a magnificent ship, heading for unknown shores.
There's always so much going on in September, and 2024 is no exception! I'm definitely going to watch the Stand Up Paddle World Championships taking place in Copenhagen from 16-22 September.
Finally, I'm going to watch a lot of films under the open sky, as Cinemateket's Filmtag is finally open! There's both a bar and a restaurant, so I'll be soaking up the last of the warm evenings there.
Nothing is ever so bad that it's not good for something! Hope my whoopsies can be inspiration for your September.
But remember, these are just my recommendations. At the editorial office, we're just as interested in hearing yours, so please let us know if there's anything you feel thatr we've missed.
We’ll be back in a month with much more on all the best of Copenhagen.
