GOLD FINDS AT SUNDAY FLEA MARKETS
One of my favourite activities on a summer Sunday in Copenhagen is without a doubt going to the flea markets around the city. Here, I can pursue my shopaholic gene in a sustainable way, where nice second-hand things get a new life instead of being thrown away.

My favourite flea market is Det Grønne Loppemarked in Nørrebro – a true nucleus if you, like me, love to find unique second-hand clothes, shoes, jewellery and bags at really good prices (ps. you’re allowed to haggle!). This market stands out for cultivating an alternative style and the unconventional rather than expensive brands.

Summer holidays and extraordinary culinary experiences go hand in hand for many. But it can be hard to afford every single restaurant you dream of visiting. That's why I want to start by exploring some of the restaurants that have been awarded the Bib Gourmand by the Michelin Guide. This honour is given to places that deliver high quality food at affordable prices that might stretch my budget a little longer.
There are 12 restaurants in Copenhagen that have a Bib Gourmand. So, if you're also a value-for-money kind of person, these are good suggestions, whether you're into Korean kimchi, traditional French bistro or new Nordic cuisine.
Pluto is one of the Bib Gourmand restaurants I would really like to try. Located on Borgergade - right in the city centre - it is culturally inspired by the New York restaurant scene, where the atmosphere is informal, raw and lively.

SPORT OR RELAXATION BY THE WATER
I tend to seek refuge in and around Copenhagen's beautiful harbour areas when the temperature really starts to rise. We've put together a guide on how to experience Copenhagen's canals in the best possible way. There's something for everyone – if you're the sporty type, you can go kayaking or paddleboarding!

If you'd rather relax by the water (this is my personal preference), I'd suggest La Banchina on Refshaleøen. If there are three things I really love, it's swimming, soaking up the sun and drinking wine. At La Banchina you can combine these things – it's pure Copenhagen summer bliss! Pack your bag with your swimsuit and your favourite book and head to the hip industrial island which is only 15 minutes from the city centre by bike.
Besides the three things above, I also plan on taking advantage of the long bright summer nights in the best possible way. I have two favourite bars where you can enjoy beverages in great outdoor surroundings. Autopoul in cool and authentic Nordvest gives off a Southern European vibe, while Lunden in Nørrebro feels like a cosy garden party.
Also, I think I'll go on an ice cream crawl. I live in Vesterbro and am beyond happy that Ismageriet expanded last summer with a store in The Meat Packing District near me!
Thrift shopping, culinary delights, water and warmth! I guess this newsletter is for all the life enjoyers out there who are just as much in the summer mood as I am. I hope I'm manifesting the good weather with my recommendations.
But remember, these are just my recommendations. At the editorial office, we're just as interested in hearing yours, so please let us know if there's anything you feel we've missed.
We’ll be back in a month with much more on all the best of Copenhagen.
