The city is abuzz with a certain magical vibe, which can only mean one thing – summer has arrived in Copenhagen!
This issue of Copenhagen Unfolded is written by Emil, who is the SoMe-manager of VisitCopenhagen’s Instagram and Facebook accounts. His summer has always been lined up with sun soaking, music festivals and sailing along the coast of Copenhagen.

This is my guide to getting the most out of a (hopefully) hot June. So pack your sunscreen, strap on your sandals, cross your fingers for good weather, and let’s roll!

THE BEST WAY TO GET AROUND THE CITY
I'm a bike-first kinda guy, and it's my favorite choice of getting around Copenhagen. Especially when it comes to small adventures outside the city center. And it’s always more fun riding around with the wind in your hair when it’s warm.
If it's your first time travelling with a bike in Copenhagen, we have an amazing guide for everything you need to get rolling, from rental options to exciting routes off the beaten path to the rules of the biking lanes.

If you feel a bit rusty about your cycling chops, we also made a small game where you can test your knowledge about the biking rules. If you are lucky, you might score yourself a Copenhagen Card!

I’m quite tempted to jump on my bike and find the Forgotten Giants.

BEERS x SUN: MATCH MADE IN HEAVEN
Having a background in the beer industry and being Danish, it makes sense that my drink of choice while chilling in a park is an ice-cold beer. Luckily, Copenhagen is abundant with awesome breweries that make all kinds of interesting hoppy, malty, fruity goodness, so it’s hard to go wrong.

My personal beer pick-up spots would be:

If you are curious about reading up on the craft beer scene in Copenhagen (and getting some inspiration for which bars to visit) or learning more about green hangouts, we have some nifty guides for you.

My girlfriend and I just got a spot for our sailing boat in Sundby Sejlforening, a small, quaint harbour located right next to the Amager Beach park. That means that we have got a even better excuse for going to the beach all the time! 🌊
So be sure to stop by, especially in the summer. Amager Beach Park contains both kid-friendly lagoons and big sandy beaches by the water, and all matter of fun water activities, so there is something for the whole family.
If you want to travel a bit further south, Sneglen aka Kastrup Søbad is also amazing, especially when people hang out during the long summer evenings. And if the weather is bad, you can still have a lea like experience at the aquarium Den Blå Planet 🐠🪸🦑
As I mentioned previously in the newsletter, my summer equals music festivals. Be sure to check out COPENHELL, when they turn Refshaleøen to hell on earth from the 19th to the 22nd of June 🔥🤘
CPH OPEN is called the champagne of skateboarding and is a pirate adventure taking place across different parts of Copenhagen in June with some of the world's best skaters. No dates have been announced, and it’s all hush-hush, but check out their Instagram profile and see if you can catch some of the events. It will be a party! 💣
Congratulations on making it this far!
I hope you found something useful or inspirational in this newsletter. Perhaps, you will see me one sunny afternoon chilling on my boat?
But remember, these are just my recommendations. At the editorial office, we're just as interested in hearing yours, so please let us know if there's anything you feel we've missed.
I hope you have an amazing June in Copenhagen or wherever you may reside!
