Welcome back for another issue of Copenhagen Unfolded. This time we’re closely examining the interesting and exciting Copenhagen Harbour.
Copenhagen and the harbour are two inseparable entities. There is so much fun to be had whether you’re into swimming, sailing or enjoying the atmosphere with your feet dangling from the docks. Or maybe you’re more into exploring the surrounding areas for art, food, drinks and so on. So this week’s issue is all about:
- Take a dip in the harbour
- Planet CPH - make more sustainable choices
- Nokken - The last untamed part of Copenhagen
- Get your daily dose of art at Overgaden
- Dinner close to the canals
So pack your swimsuit, switch to curiosity mode, and don’t forget sunscreen, because now we’re about to explore the great urban outdoors of Copenhagen. And by the way, if you want a lot more inspiration than we offer in this issue of Copenhagen Unfolded, you should definitely check out this detailed map of Copenhagen Harbour and all sorts of interesting things to check out.

TAKE A DIP IN THE HARBOUR
We know. We do talk a lot about swimming in the harbour, harbour baths and having the cleanest harbour in the world. But you also know that a harbour edition of Copenhagen Unfolded wouldn't be complete without it. Therefore we've tried to come up with a couple of lesser-known harbour baths for you.
Another bathing spot along the harbour you should check out is Havnevigen. This artificial beach at the harbour is located in southern Islands Brygge and is surrounded by newly constructed housing. Spread out your towel and chill out in the sand while you sip on a cold drink and mentally prepare to jump in the refreshing water 🧊🌞

PLANET CPH - MAKE MORE SUSTAINABLE CHOICES
You want to travel the world but you also aspire to make sustainable choices? Planet CPH is our new app, that inspires more sustainable behaviour by showcasing the greenest experiences and activities in Copenhagen.
With Planet CPH in your hand, you will be able to find more than a hundred places around Copenhagen, which in one way or the other suggest more sustainable choices. In Planet CPH you will find everything from restaurants, shops, cultural attractions and urban nature.

It's pretty simple. Browse the app, pull inspiration from the guides, mark your favourites and find your way by using the app.
Planet CPH is developed by Wonderful Copenhagen, the official tourism organisation of Copenhagen, it's free, contains no sponsored content or ads, and is available for both iOS and Android.
We hope you will find that the more sustainable choices don't take second place and can provide just as much joy, if not more, than the less sustainable choices.

THE LAST UNTAMED PART OF COPENHAGEN
Nokken is a small and cosy garden community right by the harbourside and truly a hidden gem, a place not even many local Copenhageners know about. The area consists of quaint and quirky houses and wild gardens. 🌳🏘️
It's the perfect place to go for a walk and experience the different and unique houses. Just across the water lies the neighbourhood of Sydhavnen with its modern apartments a stark contrast to the wild and untamed Nokken.
Nokken started as a small fishing village in the 1920s and 30s with little to no oversight, which you can still see today in the random layout of the quirky houses.
GET YOUR DAILY DOSE OF ART AT OVERGADEN
O—Overgaden is scenically set at Christianshavns Kanal. Here you can lose track of time in the art hall, while letting yourself be absorbed by new voices from the Danish and international contemporary art scene.
DINNER CLOSE TO THE CANALS
You've been hanging out all day by the canals and dinner time is approaching, and we see absolutely no reason to leave the beautiful harbour area just because you feel hungry. In Christianshavn, just a stone's throw away from the canal, you'll find Donda, a Latin-American seafood haven. For the full experience, we suggest you order the family-style menu and share the delicious small dishes at the table. Order some cocktails, lean back, and enjoy while you watch the chefs do their thing in the open kitchen 🍸🌮
If you feel more like some Italian delicacies, you won't have to go far. Rufino Osteria is still kind of a hidden gem in Copenhagen and is located in a small cellar across the street from Donda. The menu changes daily and is based on the season, and the dishes are cooked with a strong influence from Roman cuisine. Make sure to not miss out on a glass or two of the restaurant's great selection of high-quality wine when you visit 🍷🍝

If your budget is a little tighter or you're just looking for a delicious, casual dinner around the canals, Fatty's Burger in Islands Brygge is the place to go. From the outside, it's hard to imagine that this tiny burger joint makes some of the best burgers in town, but remember you can't always judge a book by its cover. Enjoy one of the juicy burgers outside or eat it in the craft beer bar next door, Bootleggers 🍔🍺
Alright, so Copenhagen Harbour. There is a lot to see and experience, whether you're into taking a dip in the water, going for a more cultural approach or basically just enjoy to hang out by the water and living the good life with food and drink.
We hope you got to learn something new about Copenhagen in this month's issue of Copenhagen Unfolded or at least you got inspired to try out something you haven't tried before. either way, the atmosphere at the Copenhagen Harbour is something you shouldn't miss out on if visiting.
We're back next month with more tips, insides and stories about Copenhagen.
