Hi Everyone!
This month I braved the rain and caught up with quite the power couple! Meet the elite pet photographer, Kristie Lee and her ambassador Guide Dog, Fella! From New York to London, Kristie has been involved with numerous animal related brands and businesses, elevating their products and services beautifully. Kristie is back home in Sydney and works with Guide Dogs Australia. Her involvement in their rebrand caught my eye and I finally got to meet and shoot with Kristie for myself!

Kristie has been creating content for pet related businesses all over the world! We share a love for (not just pets and Guide Dogs!) but also, branding and marketing through the use of clean beautiful imagery. We recently realised we had been undertaking similar work, only Kristie has been at it for a bit longer than I have and has been working prolifically in Australia and overseas. New York and London's loss is our gain - Kristie is back home where she belongs, on the Northern Beaches of Sydney!

I had been looking for a reason to shoot at the iconic Carriageworks in Sydney and I knew it would fit Kristie's vibe. Kristie's love of clothes meant she needed no instruction! Dressed head to toe in black, her and Fella arrive perfectly styled! It's always a good exercise for photographers to get in front of the camera to experience what it's like for you, our clients!
I must admit, I was a little nervous to shoot such a seasoned photographer; you will have unknowingly seen her work with major brands like Kong Company and Guide Dogs Australia. She teaches workshops on everything from lighting to posing people with their pets! Her exhibition 'Dogs and the City' has been a part of the international Head On photography festival held at Bondi Beach in Sydney. Her use of fashion, architecture and urban environments beautifully captures the unique personalities of dogs and their owners in iconic cities.

Kristie's career overseas and her return back home has culminated in a new chapter: Fella. Fella is impeccable; beautifully behaved and dressed to impress with his gold "bling", one thing is clear - Fella is the love of Kristie's life. It's not a coincidence that Kristie owns an ambassador Guide Dog. It's been a long wait. Kristie's involvement with Guide Dogs Australia extends back to 2017, where her photography and content creation was integral to their comprehensive rebrand that was rolled out in 2021. Today, Kristie's hybrid role with Guide Dogs Australia combines photography and philanthropy. "Fella didn't make it as a Guide Dog because he loved his food a little bit too much!" she says. However, his friendly, calm temperament and disposition meant he was ideal for an Ambassador role. One of just a handful of ambassador dogs, Fella attends events and photoshoots, where he works to represent the Guide Dogs Australia cause and promote their mission.
