Hi Everyone!
I've gotta tell you, 2026 has gotten off to a busy start; January Puppy School absolutely popped off with our highest ever number of enrolments and Behaviour Management home sessions have been buzzing too. It's been amazing to see so many of you prioritising your dogs - even if it means functioning on very little sleep! Sleep has definitely been a recurring theme this month, and if you're feeling it...I'm right there with you. I'm deep in the trenches alongside my clients, quietly dreaming of a sleep-in for us all...
Things have been busy on the home front too; I've officially moved from Hawker to Hackett, and while moving house is no small task, it's been a great chance to reset some routines with my dogs and reclaim my mornings. Lenny has been running the show lately, but we're gently closing the chapter on our "Hawker habits" and starting fresh.

On a more sentimental note, I wanted to share a small moment from my daily walks. For years now, I've been passing the same Hawker locals every morning - familiar faces that become part of your routine without you ever really stopping. It took me a long time to ask if I could photograph these Hawker locals, and I'm so glad I finally did. It's a reminder of the quiet community that forms around our dogs and our daily rituals. Thanks to these lovely ladies for being part of mine, they will be missed.

MERV THE GERMAN SHORTHAIRED POINTER, HAWKER, ACT 2026.

Meet Merv - a dog I've long admired from afar. Watching this handsome German Shorthaired Pointer chase birds across the oval is a joy; his pure athleticism and the effortless way he moves are nothing short of stunning. Merv's owner, Sally, got him from a breeder who's a family member of her friend Kel. Sal and Kel have been friends since high school. They both live nearby to Bec. When Sal spent a few years overseas, Bec and Baxter stepped in for morning walks with Kel, Olive and Charlie.

The thing I love most about living and working locally is the sense of community that grows quietly over time. It's built from familiar faces on daily walks, quick "Good Morning's" and the shared love (and chaos) that dogs bring to our lives. They remind us that we are part of something bigger, even on the busiest or most sleep deprived days!

Our rescue dog, Mozzie, isn't able to be off-leash or interact with other dogs, which has meant we've always had to keep our distance. Still, over time, these women have quietly witnessed just how much progress my partner Meej has made with Mozzie and her reactivity. They've also watched as I entered the picture with Lenny. They notice when we have been away and I'm glad I made the opportunity to catch up properly, get to know a bit more about each other and explain that we won't be around any more.
So for now, it's a fond farewell to Hawker, and over to Hackett! And if you notice me moving away from you, it's nothing personal, it's only because of our reactive girl, Mozzie! I'm really looking forward to discovering new dog walks and the community we'll meet along the way...
