Cindy Lee is the creative project of Canadian musician Patrick Flegel, who began performing in drag as Cindy Lee around 2010 while playing in the noise rock band Women. Diamond Jubilee, their seventh studio album, showcases Flegel’s undeniable songcraft, often described as "confrontation pop"—a haunting blend of tragic 1950s pop and lo-fi ambience. With Diamond Jubilee, Cindy Lee leads us through timeless tales of love and longing, wrapped in irresistibly catchy hooks.

The Collective is the second solo album from Sonic Youth co-founder and multidisciplinary artist Kim Gordon. On her debut album, Gordon revisited the raw energy of the early 1980s, blending guitar, drum machine, and lyrics inspired by fragments from advertorials. With The Collective, she teams up again with producers Justin Raisen and Anthony Paul Lopez to push these themes further. Gordon describes her vision for this album: “I wanted to capture the overwhelming chaos I feel around me right now. This is a time when truth feels ambiguous, when facts don’t necessarily change minds, and everyone holds onto their own perspective, fueling a pervasive sense of paranoia.”

We’re already excited for the last day of 2024, when El Bueno Y El Malo by Hermanos Gutierrez will be re-released after its original debut in 2022. The end of January 2025 brings even more great music with new albums from Bonnie "Prince" Billy and The Altons. Will Oldham (Bonnie "Prince" Billy) kicks off the year with The Purple Bird, collaborating with legends like John Anderson and Tim O'Brien under the guidance of producer David Ferguson. Meanwhile, The Altons release their debut album, Heartache in Room 14, blending the romantic vocals of Adriana Flores and Brian Ponce. Adding to this, Bill Callahan’s The Holy Grail takes us back to his iconic 2001 John Peel Sessions on BBC Radio, reviving a timeless era.
