On January 31st, Universal Music will release two of David Sylvian’s acclaimed remix albums on vinyl for the first time. The British musician, composer, singer, and producer is renowned as the frontman of the New Wave/Artrock band Japan and as a genre-defying solo artist. After Japan disbanded in 1982, Sylvian embarked on an experimental solo career, debuting with the album Brilliant Trees in 1984. Over the years, he has collaborated with notable artists such as Ryuichi Sakamoto and Jon Hassell.
The albums set for vinyl release at the end of January include The Good Son vs. The Only Daughter – The Blemish Remixes, originally released in 2005. This album features reinterpretations of tracks from his 2003 release Blemish, an experimental work inspired by minimalist electronic music. Contributors to the remix album include Burnt Friedman, Sweet Billy Pilgrim, Ryoji Ikeda, and others.
The second album, Died in the Wool – Manafon Variations, was initially released in May 2011. It offers reworkings of tracks from Sylvian’s 2009 album Manafon, enriched by six new compositions. A key contributor to this project was contemporary composer Dai Fujikura, who crafted the arrangements and orchestrations for several tracks.
Both albums showcase Sylvian’s continued evolution as an artist, pushing the boundaries of music and collaboration.

On No floor, More Ease & Claire Rousay crafted their intricate soundscape rather than relying on manipulated field recordings. Their bond traces back to their shared hometown of San Antonio, Texas, where one played in country ensembles and the other in noise rock bands. Both have consistently pushed their music beyond the boundaries of genre traditions and conventions. no floor exemplifies the duo's remarkable ability to uncover fresh and exciting sound arrangements, reflecting their friendship's warmth and fearless musical creativity.
The debut album by Hope Tala will be released on February 28. Tala, a British singer-songwriter, is celebrated for her distinctive fusion of R&B, neo-soul, and bossa nova. Her music is defined by introspective lyrics and a smooth vocal delivery, establishing her as a unique voice in today's music landscape.
For the first time on vinyl, Old Joy was recorded in a single afternoon at Yo La Tengo’s studio in Hoboken. The album is a meditative, improvisational journey, born from a years-long friendship between the band and the film’s director.
Who Let The Dogs Out is the debut album from Brighton-based noise-punk duo Lambrini Girls.
