In 2005, German electronic musician Jan Jelinek released his album Kosmischer Pitch. To celebrate its 20th anniversary, Jelinek is reissuing Kosmischer Pitch on vinyl through his own label, Faitiche. Founded in 2008, Faitiche serves as a platform for Jelinek’s experimental works, collaborations, and releases by fellow musicians.
Jelinek’s artistry lies in the transformation of sound. Instead of relying on traditional instruments, he constructs intricate collages from tiny sound particles. With Kosmischer Pitch, Jelinek revisited his roots, sampling “cosmic” sounds and drawing inspiration from Krautrock.
This is what Pitchfork said about the album in 2005:
“For Kosmischer Pitch, Jelinek draws from the obsessed-over rock produced by his German countrymen in the 1970s. (…) Trance-inducing repetition is constantly modulated by variations that hover on the threshold of audibility. (…) one of the more remarkable bodies of work in electronic music.” – Pitchfork

Roberto Cacciapaglia - Sei Note in Logica
|
|
His legacy extends beyond electronic music into the realm of the avant-garde. Originally released in 1979, Sei Note In Logica (Six Notes In Logic) is Cacciapaglia's second album. The composition is built around a finite set of musical notes, yet this constraint serves as a launchpad for an expansive exploration of intricate combinations and captivating timbres—featuring marimbas, strings, reeds, and the human voice. What begins as an inspired study in Minimalism evolves into a daring achievement of 20th-century music, bridging tradition with technology.
