FINAL FOUR + WEEK 11 RECAP
2020 Players Only League Main Tournament
Our Final Four is now set, in upset fashion. Adam Wainwright and Matt Holliday get big wins against Max Scherzer and Michael Lorenzen, and Sonny Gray cruises towards the dance floor while Nick Ahmed gets his glass slippers ready!
Congratulations to all four finalists, who earn an additional $4,000 towards their charities. Additionally, a salute to Alex Bregman, who's this week's high-points winner and receives a $1,000 bonus.
Check our leaderboard to see how much money you've raised for your charity.
FANTASY WEEK 11
Here are some insights from this past week:
- One of the most intriguing X factors in the NFL—Taysom Hill—finally got a chance to start at QB. Daniel Murphy, Justin Verlander, Mike Mayers and Steven Souza Jr. felt adventurous enough to add him to the lineup. Their average score in Week 11? 116.3, just a bit higher than the overall league average of 110.01.
- Chargers RB Kalen Ballage was the most-rostered non-kicker this week, rewarding 8 teams with a solid 14.10 points. The popular backup helped Adam Wainwright get into the Final Four—and Bryan Shaw, Eric Hosmer, and Evan Longoria/Mike Yastrzemski into the top half of the Second Chance Bracket.
- Great minds think alike? Of the Final Four teams, 3 gambled on the Jets defense (Waino, Sonny Gray, Matt Holliday), which netted a respectable 7 points in Week 11. It's apparent that players are looking for value from the D/ST slot.
Read below for a full breakdown.
Remember: you're never out of contention for winning money for your charity, so don't forget to set your lineup before you start carving that turkey!
Thursday's Thanksgiving lineup:
- 12:30 p.m. ET: Houston Texans @ Detroit Lions
- 4:30 p.m. ET: Washington Football Team @ Dallas Cowboys
- 8:20 p.m. ET: Baltimore Ravens @ Pittsburgh Steelers
From all of us at Big League Impact, we hope you and your families all have a happy and blessed Thanksgiving!

#9 ADAM WAINWRIGHT (245.35) DEF. #1 Max Scherzer (226.95)
Our #1 seed goes down, as POL founder Waino gets a big revenge win over his long-time rival! Having to play from over 20 points down from last week, Max had to make a major play, and did so by burning two of his slots on Jamal Agnew (4.00) and Isaiah Wright (1.70) to have the salary to stack Mahomes (26.00) and Kelce on MNF (26.90), and play RB1s Dalvin Cook (26.00) and Josh Jacobs (13.40). Adam also picked Cook, but his Mark Andrews (20.60) and Younghoe Koo (13.30) were enough to keep the lead and advance after a big fantasy heavyweight brawl. He'll face off in our first of four brackets against another fantasy champ, #5 Sonny Gray.
#5 SONNY GRAY (228.15) DEF. #20 JACK FLAHERTY (190.15)
Jack had a lot to make up coming into this one, but a second Duke Johnson (6.50) wasted starting opportunity plus both guys picking Alvin Kamara (10.50) negated his chances. Both Week 11 rosters were disappointing, as Sonny's Gio Bernard (9.50), Aaron Jones (17.10), and Marvin Jones (9.10) were part of picks that only netted 94.00 points. But it was enough, and it sends him on for a date to tangle with a menacing Adam Wainwright in the Region 1 Final Four showdown. Jack goes into the Second Chance Bracket with a chance to continue earning dollars towards Tyler Skaggs Foundation.

#23 MATT HOLLIDAY (219.10) DEF. #2 MICHAEL LORENZEN (207.00)
A huge comeback victory and upset, as Matt put together quite a gem. Also going with the MNF spotlight, but the ground-game version, he put Mahomes (26.00) and Clyde Edwards-Helaire (20.70) with Diontae Johnson (23.10), Justin Jefferson (17.60), and got his flex pick of Denzel Mims (10.10) to overcome a 24.45 deficit coming into the last week of the round. Michael also got bit by his Duke Johnson pick, though the Carlos Hyde (17.50) and Kyler Murray (22.95) ones had him looking good going into the weekend. Matt goes up against a surging Nick Ahmed in the Final Four, and the POL is shaping up to be as dramatic as it comes.
#30 NICK AHMED (241.90) VS. #11 KERSHAW/STRIPLING (234.45)
This one stayed close the whole way, and Nick punches his ticket to the Final Four with another upset victory—this time with an amazing comeback. Using Justin Herbert's career day (31.40) to go with Dalvin Cook, Chase Claypool (15.90) and a strong showing by Younghoe Koo and the Steelers D (13.00), he ends the Kershaw/Stripling run in exciting fashion. Clayton and Ross put up a good effort with Murray, Cook, and the Washington D (11.00), but Kamara got Taysom'd, and Jakobi Meyers' (6.80) PPR streak came to a close. Nick moves on to face another upset-minded foe in #23 Matt Holliday.

Congratulations to Week 11's top scorer — Alex Bregman! The Astros third baseman rode the hot hand with Kirk Cousins (27.10), also getting strong performances from Ezekiel Elliott (19.40) and Justin Jefferson (17.60).
For his high score, Alex earned a $1,000 donation to his charity, Bregman Cares. Bregman Cares supports children with autism (through a partnership with BlueSprig Autism), as well as people affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Earlier this year, Alex and his fiancée teamed up with the Houston Food Bank to raise $2 million for quarantine food kits as part of the #FEEDHOU campaign, feeding local kids whose schools were closed because of COVID-19.
From that charitable campaign, Bregman Cares was born. In addition to helping the Houston Food Bank, Bregman Cares has also provided iPads to children with autism, assisting them with vital educational resources. Learn more about Alex's great work in the video below.
