A Better Apple May Be Coming Your Way Soon Thanks to HomeopathyRosy apple aphids are a challenging problem for apple farmers because they can cause serious damage to apple tree seedlings. Researchers in Switzerland recently investigated whether homeopathic remedies could help protect these young apple trees from this damaging pest. The researchers found that the number of juvenile aphids was reduced among seedlings treated homeopathically compared to those treated with just plain water as a control. The researchers concluded: “Homeopathic remedies may be effective in plant-pest systems.” Source: Wyss, Eric, Tamm, Lucius, Siebenwirth, Joachim, Baumgartner, Stephan, Homeopathic Preparations to Control the Rosy Apple Aphid (Dysaphis plantaginea Pass.), The Scientific World Journal, 10, 358407, 11 pages, 2010.

Honoring One of the Great Women in HomeopathyOne of homeopathy’s very best prescribers was a woman named Elizabeth Wright-Hubbard MD (1896-1967). Born in New York City, Dr. Hubbard was introduced to homeopathy while traveling in Europe after her graduation from Barnard College. In 1917, Dr. Hubbard began her studies at Columbia University's College of Physicians and Surgeons. This class was the first to admit women, and she was one of the first three women to graduate in 1921. Wright-Hubbard was also the first female intern at Bellevue Hospital in New York, where she rode the night emergency ambulance. She learned her Homeopathy from Pierre Schmidt of Geneva (and Emil Schlegel of Tubingen), Switzerland. They had been taught by Eugene Alonso Austin and Frederica E. Gladwin, two of James Tyler Kent's most illustrious pupils. Her writings, lectures, and seminars made her reputation on the international level. In 1945, she served as president of the prestigious International Hahnemannian Association. She was an excellent prescriber.

The International Hahnemannian Association and How They Saved Homeopathy…The International Hahnemannian Association (IHA) was formed in 1880 by a group of physicians who felt that mainstream homeopathic organizations were becoming too "liberal" and straying (often wildly) from Samuel Hahnemann's original instructions. Key members included Adolph Lippe, H.C. Allen, P.P. Wells, George F. Foote, C. Pearson, E.W. Berridge, T.F. Pomeroy, and Edward Rushmore.
Its primary purpose was to preserve "pure" homeopathy by encouraging strict adherence to core principles like the Law of Similars, the single remedy, and the minimum dose, while rejecting the "eclectic" mixing of traditional medicine with homeopathy. For nearly 80 years, the IHA served as an organization for practitioners dedicated to classic homeopathic standards before eventually merging back with the American Institute of Homeopathy in 1959. Many credit the IHA with singlehandedly saving pure homeopathy for later generations.

Can remedies expire or be ruined?
While the FDA does not require homeopathic medicine to have an expiration date, our remedies in pill form and our homeopathic kits now come with an expiration date on the label which is 5 years from the date of manufacture. This is based on the stability assessment of finished products.
In order to keep remedies effective for years, you should store them at room temperature in a dry, dark place and not in the refrigerator. Avoid touching/contaminating them. Also, do not put spilled remedies back into the container and avoid heat higher than 120°F, moisture and extended periods of sunlight.
