Mark your calendars! On September 14th, we’ll be holding our Paws for Prevention dog walk fundraiser at Belmont Lake State Park in West Babylon, NY. This fun-filled event brings together our local community, furry friends, and supporters of AFSP in a shared mission to raise awareness and funds for suicide prevention.
Whether you’re walking solo or bringing your dog along for the stroll, it’s a great opportunity to get outdoors, enjoy nature, and support a cause that touches so many lives. The event will feature a beautiful, easy walk, along with opportunities to connect with fellow participants and learn more about AFSP’s vital programs.

All proceeds from the event will directly benefit the Long Island Out of the Darkness Walk, which helps fund critical suicide prevention education, programming, and support on Long Island. So, whether you’re walking in honor of someone, in memory of a loved one, or just to show your support, your participation can make a difference.

Gear Up for the Ride to Fight Suicide!
Rev your engines and get ready to join us for the Ride to Fight Suicide, a special motorcycle ride hosted by Ghost Ryderz Extreme MC New York. Taking place on September 6th, this event is a powerful way to show your support for suicide prevention, raise awareness, and honor those impacted by suicide.
The ride will begin at Miller's Ale House in Deer Park and end at Miller's Ale House in Levittown, providing an opportunity to connect with fellow riders and community members, all while raising crucial funds for AFSP’s mission. Whether you're an experienced rider or just looking to be a part of the cause, this is an event you won’t want to miss.

Time: Registration opens at 8:30 AM, Kickstands up at 10:45 AM
Starting Location: Miller's Ale House 1800 The Arches Circle, Deer Park
Ending Location: Miller's Ale House 3046 Hempstead Turnpike, Levittown
Fee: $25 per rider (includes ride entry, breakfast, and a patch)
Ride is police escorted
Raise $100 and get a free t-shirt!

Community Resources Spotlight: Survivor Support Group for Teens
|
|
The Christopher A. Coluccio Foundation and The Neighborhood House have partnered together to offer a support group for teenage suicide loss survivors. The group will consist of an 8-week session beginning in Fall 2025 on Mondays from 7-8:30 pm and is open to teens ages 14-19 who have lost a family member or friend to suicide.
