Here we are! The middle of summer is upon us and without checking a calendar I can tell you this with great certainty because the season of the SUNFLOWER has also arrived! They are everywhere; it seems every expression of life I see lately (even as I'm scrolling through my Fbook or Instagram) is celebrating summer sunshine and sunflowers in full bloom. My own back yard calls to me each day with a new bloom.

I love sunflowers. They are symbolic of optimism and happiness. They represent love and loyalty and longevity. Much of the meaning of sunflowers stems from its namesake, the sun itself. ... Sunflowers are known for being “happy” flowers, making them the perfect gift to bring joy to someone's (or your) day. 

To pair up the expression, "You are my sunshine" with a sunflower is a perfect expression of L.O.V.E. 

 A song of the same name was first recorded in 1940 and I'm sure has been sung by many sweethearts, grandmothers, mothers, fathers, and many individuals since. In fact, I think I can hear it being sung right now, off in the distance with sighs of love, breaths of love, and a heartbeat love tapping in time.
